One of the most complex biospheres in the globe. The second smallest country in Africa after the Seychelles, but the largest of the microstates, lost in the Gulf of Guinea. Far enough away from the African coast to avoid conflicts and turmoil, not too easy to reach, finally a container of elements worthy of a small Eden.This geographical isolation of São Tomé and Principe from the continent has created a unique Biodiversity, composed of diversified ecosystems, such as rainforest, highland forest, secondary forests, "shadow" forests, plains, savannahs and fern forests. It has been declared a Unesco World Heritage Site of the Biosphere and respect for the environment is a real asset.
